The beauty of endurance

How time creates art

This painting was born out of my fascination with rust. The colors and textures transform what once was into something even more beautiful. I created an eye-catching element where the structure resembles melting iron running down the canvas. This symbolizes the birth of iron, shaped in its liquid form. Once it reaches its final shape, the forces of nature take over, transforming it over time into amazing colors. I love that about rust—it just gets more beautiful and more interesting as it stands the test of time.

The time for antique has turned into vintage, well kept impeccable fails to tell the story of endurance. While vintage holds the evidence of having gone through time. It makes curious to the story to it’s story. That’s what I want to capture in this painting. The beauty of vintage, the endurance of time which doesn’t make something just old, it makes it carry a value that connects us with what once was and filters this precious treasures whispering the amazing stories that are so dear. And deserve to live on, to be passed on.

I met a young man once when I was working in a MeetingCenter. What I noticed was that while we were setting up the rooms, he would make some very surprising music choices. I would remember the music from the time of my parents, however I was quite intrigued how he knew the music.

As soon as I asked him about it, he told me, from my grandmother, my grandparents. His very warm memories of them became visible instantly on his face. He told me that he has spent a lot of time with them throughout the years and how he loved the stories that would share from their time.

He also showed me pictures of his mom and dad, and it was heartwarming to see how proud he was of their enduring love and respect for each other. Even from the pictures, you could feel the love within the family. It became clear to me how the strong bond of his grandparents had been passed on, knowingly or unknowingly, to the next generation(s).

This painting reflects on the beauty of endurance. And how when giving time something, while it goes through the forces of nature can turn into something so colorful and amazing. With even more dimensions and sparkle then originally visible.

The energy within this painting supports keeping the precious memories of the good things of the past alive.
