A painting speaks… Revealing Gold
Verborgen schatten onthullen zichzelf
For years, this painting hung next to my computer. It became a kind of companion, a silent witness to my own journey: landing in a foreign country, reinventing myself and, step by step, coming home.
When I was working on it, I didn't really know how many layers it would have — not just in paint, but also in meaning. Revealing Gold reminded me that gold is not always visible on the surface. Sometimes it takes time, trust and courage to discover the hidden treasures.
In my first years here in Andalusia, I slowly got to know those treasures. In the people from this small village, who welcomed me with open arms and helped me find my place step by step. In nature, which showed me every day what abundance looks like, without forcing anything. And in myself: the strength to choose, to trust and to go my own way.
This painting has accompanied me all these years as a gentle but powerful symbol of faith and trust. But now I feel it is time for Revealing Gold to find a new forever home — a place where the story can continue to flow, where it can remind someone else of the wealth that lies hidden in all of us.
